Oyo State grassroots football is set for a new era as the Grassroots Development Unit of the Nigerian Football Coaches Association, Oyo State Chapter, prepares to swear in its new executive members.
The new executive is expected to bring fresh structure, leadership, and direction to grassroots football development across Oyo State. The move is also seen as an important step towards discovering, training, and promoting young football talents from local communities.
The new Head of Grassroots Development, Akande Lukman Arisekola, is expected to play a key role in this new phase. With his experience as a club owner in the Nigeria National League third division, stakeholders believe his leadership can help strengthen youth football development in the state.
Oyo State has a strong football history and has produced several notable players, including Mutiu Adepoju, a three-time FIFA World Cup player, and Felix Owolabi, one of Nigeria’s respected football legends. With the new executive in place, there is renewed hope that the state can produce more talented footballers for both local and international football.
Congratulations to the Oyo State football family as they begin this new chapter in grassroots football development.
