Sequence to depart of the five-time world champions, the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, on Thursday night for China, to participate in the four-nation China International Youth Football Tournament taking place in Yinchuan, 5th -11th July 2026, as the tournament comprised host China, Australia, Tanzania and Nigeria.
The Nigeria U-17 2-3 to Tanzania U-17 in their opening fixture at the nation’s tournament gave a lot of sign to youths development in the country.
Although the young boys showed plenty of fight, they couldn’t find the equalizer, as Tanzania claimed all three points in the contest.
As the tournament is programmed to serve as a preparatory forum for the Golden Eaglets as they continue the build-up to this year’s Wafu zine B U17 Championship (qualifying tournament for next year’s U17 Africa Cup of Nations) taking place in September.
The Eaglets are still keen to play another match on Wednesday’s against Australia in which I think they’ll be able to register their first win of the tournament.
