Gabriel Teodoro Martinelli Silva joined the north London club Arsenal from Brazilian side Ituano in July 2019. The electric-fire defender has scored ten times with a total and won the Arsenal Goal of the Season award for a stunning solo effort in a 2-2 draw at Chelsea during his debut season.
After the Brazilian defender handed PSG a dramatic shootout victory in Budapest by missing the penalty, although Gabriel’s pain still remains fresh, the kind of widespread support from teammates, coaches, and fans, many of whom praised his willingness to take responsibility when it mattered most made the player determined to look ahead rather than dwell on one difficult moment.
His wonderful season was 2022/23 when he scored 15 goals for the club and he will still go to be part of Arsenal next year’s success story following suit of John Terry after 2008 lost penalty in the final and later won the Champions League in 2011/12.
