    It was anything but business as usual in the Ibadan football council league last weekend and this week some of the biggest clubs in Ibadan dropped points while others labored to claim their championship. The new starlets went into the Match No. 18 fixture at Olubadan Stadium main bowl, Iyaganku Area Ibadan, desperate for a win to ensure they top league the season with momentum, and they got their winning goal in the first -half from Ajileye Sarafa.

    After a bright start from both sides, the outstanding performance from Azeez to score a goal for 12Alive fc at 41 minutes crowned 12Alive winner of the game between them and TEAF fc, but the team struggled to get back until the last whistle.

    As fantastic as the game between Sdk fc vs Elite Sporting and Karim Adeyemi fc vs Abuola Babes ended goalless, although both matches were full of momentum and energy.

    The match between Saki United and Police Baton FC ended in a 2-2 draw. There were fantastic moments from both sides, but an 11mint goal from Vincent Taiwo from Police Baton gave Saky United a game challenge and Muftau Razaq’s 21-minute goal gave them the match balance.     Youngstar were the perfect example of this, playing so wretchedly in the first half against FC Peridots and falling behind with a goal from Lateef Olanrewaju in 8 minutes of the game. In the second half from youngsters with a level of maturity from some of the young players, parades by FC periodots and a goalkeeper error cost them dearly two goals within 64 and 65 minutes. Luckily for them, a wonderful movement from the capital of team Abass gave them a fought-back free kick taken by Martins Olowoyo in the 78th minute resulted in a goal to make the game a draw.     Ahead of the Super Eagle qualifier matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, the head coach, Eric Charlie, has sent out a preliminary invitation to 39 players from which a final list of 25 players will be picked for the games. We can exclusively report that four players from the NPFL made the list. They are

    My suggestion
    Inviting home base has been a normal thing for coaches who understand the system, but giving them chances to play is the pathway to regaining past glory.
    Throwback to when the Nigeria Super Eagles had a standard squad started at Algiers 90, where the Super Eagles had only two professional players, Andrew Uwe and Ademola Adeshine from the Second Division league. Others are home base participants in the 1990 AFCON. Below is a list of players.

    Midfielders: Ayo Ogunlana, Thompson Oliha, Wasiu Ipaye, Moses Kpakor, Emmanuel Okocha, Friday Elaho.

    The second half resumes and the Young Stars come out firing from all cylinders as they earn a free kick on the fringe of the penalty box now.

    It was taken to the near side by Sodiq, the number 23rd man of the 23rd. He crosses waist high, which beats the defenders of 12 ALIVE, and Bimbo Adaramaja is lurking around in the box as he places the ball in the corner of the far post, the 23rd stretched arms of keeper Idris for the second goal for Bimbo Adaramaja and Young Stars in this match.

    VIA is on the rampage again and a long range shot from the far edge of the penalty box is caught by keeper De Pride, who has been marvelous in goal today, saving many goal-bound moves.

  • CAF realizes Final Draw for Total Energies CAF U-17 Morocco 2025 .

    The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) conducted the official Final Draw for the TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 yesterday Thursday, 13 February at CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

    After the AFCON U17 draw was conducted by former Mali international Adama Coulibaly and ex-Senegalese star Souleymane Camara, the host nation was officially mapped in a group A alongside Uganda. Tanzania, Zambia and the two qualified teams from the UNIFFAC tournament were found in group B and D respectively.

    As CAF picked Gambia and Tunisia, which finished third in two other wafu zone tournaments, and turned off two other zones. CAF organized another tournament with the Central African Football Federation (UNIFFAC) to pick two to complete 16team for AFCON 2025. The UNIFFAC tournament will be hosted by Cameroon from 16-28. Five countries, Cameroon, Gabon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and Congo, will participate in the championship. The two got qualified name UNIFFAC 1 and 2 in the draws.

    Ahead of the Cup of Nations u20, which will be played in Cote d’Ivoire from April 26 to May 18, 2025. Both countries met six times. They both won two matches each and drew two times.
