Asisat Lamina Oshoala, a Nigerian footballer, was born and raised in Ikorodu, northeast of Lagos, situated along the Lagos Lagoon and bordering Ogun State. She is from a Yoruba tribe hailing from a Muslim family with a polygamous structure. Initially, Alhaji Oshoala, along with Asisat’s mother, was popularly known as Iya Asisa.
