Coco Gauff won the French Open for the first time by defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-4 in the final to be the worst ever final in the French Open.

Since Coco Gauff lost her first final at Roland Garros in 2022, aged 18, Gauff has won her two subsequent grand slam finals and now holds a 10-3 record in finals overall. β€œI was going through a lot of things when I lost in this final three years ago,” said Gauff. β€œI’m just happy to be here, a lot of dark thoughts. “Just the fact that I stayed on it just means a lot.” This year’s win gave her her second major title.
